TRC visit Stretford High School

On Friday 8th March we were invited along to celebrate International Women's Day with pupils from Stretford High School and other local High Schools from the local vicinity.
TRC had a chance to discuss and explore with young girls and boys the work which Trafford Rape Crisis is doing within the community of Trafford.
It was a great opportunity for us to meet our next generation and hear what they had to say about violence against women, abuse and hear about how this is integrated into their current education.

Biscuits made by women at our FREE drop-in. Held at the Women and Children's Centre on Fridays and Saturdays 11.00-1.00pm

Our wonderful volunteers and staff at TRC

As you can see from the pictures the information stand was well attended and the biscuits made by the wonderful women who attend the drop in group, went down a real treat along with card making for mothers day.

TRC supports the North West Recovery Walk Today

TRC is supporting this wonderful event, many of the women we support are on their own personal 'recovery journey'. This is the day to CELEBRATE and promote RECOVERY!

The athletics track will be the focus for the day's main event, the celebration walk. With around 1500 people either in recovery from substance misuse, currently recovering or supporting someone expected to walk the track, it promises to be an extremely emotional and symbolic celebration for everyone involved.

There will be entertainment for all the family. Afternoon highlights include the official launch of Trafford Recovery Forum, a live satellite link to Hartford, Connecticut, USA to join their 12th Recovery Walk, live bands such as Tom Hingley and The Lovers, Raucous Caucus Recovery Choir, Steel Bands will be there and many more. There will be food, information stalls, Holistic Therapies, Yoga, Artwork and a Recovery Wall. Remember the muslin squares everyone decorated personally at the TRC Conference back in March? Well it has now been made into a quilt, which was unveiled at the stakeholder event...
... and here it is!!! A beautiful piece of art created by over 100 people  which captures the moment of the Black Asian and Minority Ethnic Conference which TRC organised back in March 2012.We are now planning for the quilt to travel and it has already begun it's journey having been exhibited in Windsor  at the British Psychology Society's Psychology of Women's Annual Conference. Please contact us if you have an event where you would like the quilt to be displayed.
